PRECIOUS MOMENTS figurines are available at Shepherd of the Hills Homestead which is home to the PRECIOUS MOMENTS Animated Gift Gallery. Samuel J. Butcher the artist and creator of PRECIOUS MOMENTS produced his first greeting card in 1974 and in 1978 went on to develop the first PRECIOUS MOMENTS figurine. By the end of 1978 all 21 original PRECIOUS MOMENTS figurines were introduced to the market. From that time on it they have become an international favorite collectible. Today the figurine collection consists of over 1400 pieces.
In 1985 Sam began construction of the PRECIOUS MOMENTS Chapel in Carthage which is a 2 ¼ hour drive from Branson. The grand opening was in 1989. Many Ozark visitors make it a part of their Branson experience.
NEW IN 2002: Sam is working on a Dollhouse for the PRECIOUS MOMENTS Chapel Center. Patterned after the Victorian Mansion, the dollhouse will feature many of the PRECIOUS MOMENTS figurines in it.
Another feature at PRECIOUS MOMENTS is their popular Victorian Mansion located on an island near the 40 acre lake on the PRECIOUS MOMENTS Chapel grounds. The combination of the PRECIOUS MOMENTS Chapel, Victorian Mansion, Wedding Chapel and Bride's Home turn this location into a PRECIOUS MOMENTS Wedding Island.
